A Magical Take on Japanese Tradition

Crafted and hand painted by local Japanese artisans, inspired by the classic artworks of Edo Japan and artists like Kitagawa Utamaro. Each 杯 'Sakazuki' (sake cup)  is painted with a special non-toxic thermochromic pigment ink, and then coated with a food grade clear ceramic glaze, to seal in the color changing ink.

Color Changing Feature: The color changes when the temperature of the hot color changing cup is raised with drinks such as tea, hot sake, or hot lemon water. The color changes when the temperature of the cold color changing cup is lowered with beverages like cold tea, chilled wine, or cold water. The effect will occur quickly with more drastic temperature changes and a slow blooming of the Cherry Blossoms with liquids closer to room temperature. The pigment is a temperature-sensitive material with a high temperature resistance of 608 °F

Due to the delicate thermal reaction, there are rare cases where certain parts of the world are too hot or too cold that the cups arrive fully bloomed and activated out of the box. In this case, once brought back to room temperature they will return to their originally design. Gentle hand wash is recommended to preserve the longevity of the cups and ink design, dishwashers are not recommended.

Cups good, delivery long.

The cups are very good. Turn blue and pink as described and look beautiful. Delivery took 4 weeks. They come from China. A wrong tracking number was provided, so it was unclear if the cups would ever arrive. They did in the end.
Communication is only possible through Instagram, Email returned undelivered with an error message.

Can it be blue too?

I still didn’t buy them, cause I don’t know if it can turn blue too, because i saw on a youtube video that if you pour hot water in it: the flowers turn pink. If you pour cold water: the flowers turn blue. Normal temperature: white flowers. So if you know if the flowers can turn blue too or not please let me know, Thank you

Hello! Yes, the hot and cold version will turn blue when used with cold water and pink with hot water :)

A little smaller than I thought.

The cups are great and look exactly like the pictures. They are a little smaller than I expected, but I guess this is the style of these kinds of cups from Japan. It just means I'm refilling my cup. If it was a little bigger I would have given 5 stars, but otherwise they is no problem.

Like being back in Japan

Japan is such a great place to visit, and I often love seeing the cherry blossoms in season. these cups remind me of the beautiful bloom of the sakura blossoms. I love enjoying my nigori sake in these.
